Q. Who wrote the Bible and how long did it take to write?

A. In the book of Hebrews 1:1 says "God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets".

In II Timothy 3:16 it is written "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God".

In II Peter 1:21 we read "for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."

From the scripture quoted above, we understand that God spoke to many holy men in different ways at various times. The Holy Spirit moved them to write it down. This written Word is inspired, meaning, God breathed. The Bible was thus written by 40 different authors living in diverse circumstances in during different periods in human history. It was written and completed in about 1600 years. The Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God.
