Come aside into a deserted place and rest a little.... Mar 6:31
These are the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was asking His disciples to get away from the busy life they had in ministering to people and rest. Our Lord knows about our busy lives. However, he wants us to get busy with spiritual things in our lives. It is necessary for every child of God to rest from being busy all the time.

I remember the time when I went for vacation to India. I was running around trying to meet as many relatives and friends as possible. There was no rest in this kind of vacation. I came back more tired than I left. There was no rest. For a real vacation, we have to go to a place and do nothing but meditate on the Lord and His Word. This we can do daily even in our busy lives. Set time apart to rest and relax in the Lord.

When we get too busy, God gets our attention. I read the following :
Sometimes God takes away our props that we might lean on Him, allow temptations, so we will grow and triumph over sin.
Sometimes He takes away the strength for doing earthly things to rest our bodies that our souls may soar on eagle’s wings.
Let’s not resent it when He says, “Come ye apart – Be still” or chafe at disappointments that are His sovereign will.
Oh let’s not doubt or question “Why?” with unexplained delays, but keep on soaring ‘neath His wings with gratitude and praise.
